Since 2011, well over a thousand choristers, soloists and cantors from four continents have performed at the Louis Lewandowski Festival, named after the German-Jewish composer Louis Lewandowski, whose work has had a significant influence on synagogal music to this day.

Under the motto “Jewish Renaissance and Baroque in Synagogue Music”, this year’s festival presents choirs and ensembles from South Africa, Germany, Great Britain and Switzerland.
In addition to pieces from the period of this year’s leitmotif, all ensembles will of course also perform Lewandowski’s works in concerts at various venues in Berlin and Potsdam.
Berlin is on its way to becoming a center of Jewish liturgical music again.
After all that has been done to Jewish people, the Jewish world and Jewish culture in and from this city, we can only be grateful to our musicians from all over the world and the audiences of the new Berlin.
Above all, however, we would also like to thank the many friends and sponsors who make the Louis Lewandowski Festival possible.
Let us immerse ourselves together in the synagogal soundscapes of the Renaissance and Baroque!
You are cordially invited!
