At the concerts, they encountered an open-minded, interested and tolerant audience.
Between concerts, the musicians continued their training, got to know Berlin, made friends and developed ideas for new projects.
During this time, our Synagogal Ensemble Berlin with Cantor Isaac Sheffer has become a permanent member of the international family of Jewish and synagogal choirs.
In 2011, our goal was to bring synagogal music in the tradition of Lewandowski back to the site of his work beyond a few synagogues.
With the help of our guest choirs from all over the world, we succeeded.
It was also made possible by an always wonderful audience.
It was also made possible by many mostly voluntary helpers, friendly institutions and the generous support from Berlin’s business community, which made our project possible in the first place.
I would like to thank everyone involved from the bottom of my heart and I am already looking forward to the Louis Lewandowski Festival 2016!
