Dear visitors to the festival,

The Louis Lewandowski Festival is now taking place in Berlin for the 14th time. And for the 14th time, artists from all over the world are coming to Berlin as part of this festival to experience and celebrate Jewish culture and liturgy, and synagogue choir music in particular.

I am very happy about that. Every year, the Louis Lewandowski Festival shows us once again the wealth of Jewish culture in Berlin and around the world. It shows how great and important this contribution is for our urban society and sends a strong signal that hatred, anti-Semitism and exclusion must have no place in our city.

With this in mind, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you all and wish the festival the greatest possible attention. In 2024, the Louis Lewandowski Festival will be dedicated to the music of ancient tribes of Oriental Jews under the title “Unknown Voices of Israel”. We can look forward to a wide variety of concerts in the most diverse locations in our city with renowned musicians. I wish us all exciting and inspiring concert experiences.

I would like to thank everyone involved, the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the Synagogal Ensemble Berlin, all partners and sponsors and all guests and friends of the festival. With your commitment, you are making an important contribution to the visibility of Jewish life and Jewish culture in our city. It makes an important contribution to cultural and interreligious dialog and to social cohesion in our diverse city.
